HORNELL, NY – Senator Tom O’Mara was the target of numerous praises Thursday afternoon for his efforts in helping the Hornell fire department receive a new ladder truck.
With the help of O’Mara’s state municipal grant program, Hornell was able to purchase a one million dollar ladder tuck with the city only responsible for $500,000 of the cost. “It was perfect timing,” said O’Mara, “The money was there and there was not a better use for the grant. Grants are far and few between for projects like this now a days and I’m glad we got this done when we did.”
O’Mara is running against Leslie Danks Burke for the state’s 58th Senate District, a district spanning the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions.
