ALFRED, NY – Alfred Village Police Chief Paul Griffith reports that a power pole on Route 244 in Alfred, fell last night in the 7:00 hour, landing on a car. Fortunately, there were no injuries, though the car was ruined, however, there is a power outage in parts of Alfred this morning (the police phone number 587-8878 is not working at the time of this posting (we talked to Police Chief Griffith on his cell phone).
