Big Rigs Collide This Morning On I-86 In Cuba

ALLEGANY COUNTY, NY – State Police have made the following statement about an accident on I-86 in Cuba:

At 5:28 a.m., Troopers responded to a tractor trailer collision on I86 eastbound in the town of Cuba. Further investigation revealed that a 1987 Peterbilt was disabled partially in the roadway of I86. The Peterbilt operator, Kyle W. Willis, 41 of Dorset, OH was outside his vehicle attempting to make repairs when Willis and his Peterbilt were struck by a 2016 Freightliner traveling eastbound on I86. Willis was transported to Olean General Hospital where he succumb to his injuries.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation are still investigating this collision with the assistance of the NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit.

Other agencies assisting with road closers and scene assistance, NYS DOT, Cuba Fire Company, New Hudson Fire Company and Friendship Fire Company.
This is still an ongoing investigation.
