Palmesano Votes No On Gun Legislation

PALMESANO REJECTS BILLS THREATENING THE SECOND AMENDMENT
A Statement by Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C,I-Corning)

“The Assembly and Senate passed a series of bills, a number of which will hinder the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens to obtain and own a firearm. Like the SAFE Act, these bills don’t fortify our schools, provide critical funding for school resource officers and mental health programs, strengthen penalties for those who commit a crime with a gun or make our kids safer. They do shred due process protections that are a hallmark of our democracy. I remain committed to supporting the Second Amendment and the rights of law-abiding citizens to own a firearm,” said Palmesano.
