BATH, NY – Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard, reports that murder suspect Alan Schultheis, committed suicide on Friday at the county jail. According to Sheriff Allard, Schultheis was a prisoner on the 1st floor, and went up to 2nd floor and jumped off, injuring himself. Schultheis died at the hospital. Schultheis was the suspect, in the killing of Jay Sprague, at the ARC House, on Elm Street, earlier this month.
Sheriff Jim Allard says, the family has been notified, and investigation continues.
