Allegany County longtime reporter Michael Baldwin says – State Police have identified and charged the man accused of being in a high speed chase in the Town of Wellsville Sunday evening. “Shawn M. Currier, 36 of Wellsville was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. He allegedly drove at speeds of 90 before crashing his vehicle on the west side of Wellsville. In addition and just before the chase he was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute in the Town of Clarksville.”
In other news, Wellsville police report Nicholas W. Stilson, age 24 from Wellsville was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Blood Alcohol Content greater than .08%, Failure to Keep Right and Operating a Motor Vehicle while Using a Mobile Phone, following a one car motor vehicle crash on O’Connor Street. Stilson was processed, issued traffic tickets for Village Court returnable on 3/7/23 and released to third party.
