Bath Police Report A Wild Chase Last Night

April 21, 2023

BATH, NY – Bath Village Police Chief Colin Taft reports that last night, they were investigating a case at 3 East William Street, Apartment 304. The police chief says, during the investigation, officers encountered 29 year old Derrick Mack-Vasquez. Police say Mack-Vasquez was not supposed to be in there because of a restraining order. Police say Mack-Vasquez then tried to hide, got caught, then while in custody, suffered a medical event and was taken to Ira Davenport for treatment. After getting medical treatment, police say Mack-Vasquez took off from the hospital, and was later found hiding in a wooded area.
Police say they gave Mack-Vasquez some medical treatment at the scene, then arrested him. The charges against Derrick Mack-Vasquez are criminal contempt and resisting arrest. Bath Police Chief Colin Taft says Derrick Mack-Vasquez has escaped arrests eight times, since last summer.
