February 27, 2024

Hornell Mayor John Buckley said there is $200,000 available from the DRI (Downtown Revitilization) money for the Community Arts Center. Dr. Susan Grey says there’s been talks going on between the Hornell Ymca and the Hornell Community Arts Center – and talk of a possible lease agreement between City Hall – the Community Arts Center and the Ymca….Buckley and the Common Council are sending a resolution to the governor’s office asking that state AIM funding not be cut but be increased in the state budget. “We’re treated as second class citizens,” Buckley said last night, of small towns, cities and villages.

The Hornell Council renewed its agreement with the Steuben County Centralized Arrangement Court. A bond resolution for over a million dollars for Veterans Memorial Park improvements was passed unanimously last night. Other resolutions passed were about budget amendments. There was also a water and waste water contract agreement with the water operators union.
