FROM SENATOR TOM O’MARA: Really great to visit with Chemung County Sheriff’s Investigator Michael Theetge in my district office in Elmira earlier today. Investigator Theetge was severely injured in the line of duty in March when he suffered a traumatic brain injury during a retail theft operation in Big Flats. We discussed New York’s misguided criminal justice reforms that contributed to his injuries, his long road to recovery, and his desire to get back on the job. Thank you for your service Mike, and for your ongoing, strong commitment to the future safety and security of our communities. To help continue supporting Investigator Theetge’s recovery, the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office is sponsoring a benefit on Saturday, November 30.
