Steuben County Looks Back At 2024

From Steuben County Legislative Chair Kelly Fitzpatrick:

• The Comprehensive Plan
• Substantial completion of the Highway ARPA projects
• Continued funding of the Animal Cruelty prevention capital project
• Continued establishment of roadside cleanup weeks for our local municipalities
• Launched our EMS service and also established a capital reserve fund for EMS/equipment purchases
• Funded On The Job Training with CSS Workforce NY
• Established a grant program for local municipalities for the purchase of public safety equipment – grants of up to $10,000 for up to 5 municipalities
• Purchased the land across from the Public Safety Building
• Continued use of Zoom for meetings
• Continued work with Bridges to Hope to help it with its mission along with helping them to get along in the business community
• Massive response to TS Debby and work with the disaster declaration. This is ongoing
• Established Destination Development Grant Fund with SCCVB
• Appointed a new Commissioner of Finance
• Appointed a new County Attorney
• Committed to the ViewPoint Project
• Waived Civil Service testing fees
• Investment of Opioid Settlement Funds

With the new EMs (Emergency Medical Services) there are now EMTs working out of Woodhull during the day time, and paramedics Advanced Life Support Team that works 24-7 throughout the entire county.
