The Alfred Village Police Department wants to address the growing concern of a large police and medical services presence that was noted at Alfred University around 12:45pm on this date. The Alfred Police Department received a 911 call for a subject that was unresponsive. The Alfred Village Police Department and local emergency services responded to the scene, as did the Allegany County Coroner’s Office. The Alfred Police Department is conducting a death investigation and cannot comment any further. We can provide no further information at this time but will provide updates as they become available. The Alfred Police Department would like to inform residents that this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
