Hornell School Superintendent Jeremy Palotti And Artificial Intelligence

January 5, 2026

Wlea News asked Hornell School Superintendent Jeremy Palotti for his thoughts about Artificial Intelligence. Here is what he says:  “Like it or not, AI is a part of society and integrated into much of what we do and interact with.  Ignoring it would be a disservice to our students.  We do have guard rails around it and they are ever evolving.  We obviously have rules around plagiarism and such, which apply to AI.  The challenge is with AI is that it can be tough to determine what is authentic and what is AI generated so we actually have to rethink what we ask of kids for homework and such as traditional work can often be completed done by AI, which would negate the purpose of the assignments.”
