Democrat Aaron Gies Picks Up Several Endorsements

March 25, 2026

FROM THE AARON GIES CAMPAIGN: The Aaron Gies for Congress campaign today announced endorsements from three former NY-23 Democratic nominees, Tracy Mitrano, Max Della Pia, and Tom Carle, marking a significant step forward in the race. Each has run district-wide campaigns, engaged voters across the region, and now comes together behind a shared direction for NY-23. “These are leaders who have spent years listening to people across NY-23—hearing their concerns, understanding their challenges, and stepping up to serve,” said Aaron Gies. “I’m honored to have their support as we build a campaign focused on the Common Good and a good life people can actually afford.” Gies added: “Let’s be honest—people in this district are tired. Tired of politics that go nowhere. Tracy, Max, and Tom didn’t walk away after their campaigns. They stayed engaged. They kept listening. They kept working. That matters. Because what we’re building here isn’t about one election—it’s about finally getting this right for the people who live and work in NY-23.”

Mitrano, a nationally-recognized technology policy expert and a longtime Cornell educator, emphasized the need for serious, solutions-focused leadership. “Aaron brings a seriousness of purpose and a commitment to problem-solving that this district needs. He understands that we must move beyond noise and toward solutions that actually improve people’s lives.”

Della Pia, a retired Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, pointed to service and unity.
“Service doesn’t end after one campaign. It continues. I’m supporting Aaron because he’s building something that brings people together and focuses on what matters most to the people of this district.”

Carle, an accomplished business leader and the most recent Democratic nominee in NY-23, highlighted the campaign’s connection to everyday concerns.
“People across this district are looking for a path forward – something practical, something grounded. Aaron is speaking to that in a way that resonates.”

The endorsements reflect a growing coalition forming around Gies—one centered on listening, accountability, and a commitment to finding common ground. “This isn’t about one campaign or one election, it’s about bringing people together,” Gies added. “That’s what the Common Good means—and that’s what we’re building here in NY-23.”
