FROM NYSP: On May 12, 2026, at approximately 12:18 p.m., troopers from SP Painted Post responded to a truck into a guiderail on S Hamilton St. in the town of Erwin, where fuel spilled onto the roadway.
An investigation determined a 2019 Volvo Truck was traveling south on Hamilton St when it failed to maintain lane striking 3 delineator metal posts in the median. The broken posts subsequently caused a puncture in the fuel tank of the semi, causing fuel to spill on the roadway. Fuel cleaned by B and W and DEC was notified. There were no injuries reported.
