The Play About Lance Corporal Zach Smith, Opens Wednesday Night

A new play called “Smith” opens tomorrow night in Hornell. “Smith” is about the life and death of Lance Corporal Zach Smith, a Hornell resident who joined the U.S. Marines and was killed by a roadside bomb, in Afghanistan on January 24, 2010.

Director Penny Smith says, she was aware that there had been a script written years ago, by then college student Gloria Gambino. The role of Zach, will be played by Aiden McCormick. Kristy Woolridge is playing the part of Zach’s mother Kim Smith, and Sean Gaffney is playing the part of Zach’s father, Chris Smith.

The show will be put on at the Hornell Intermediate School Auditorium.
