October 5, 2026
By Alfred State Spokesperson Paul Welker

Kelley Bell’s exhibit “Oh!” will be featured at the Bret Llewellyn Art Gallery from Oct. 12 to Nov. 6. Bell is a designer, animator, projectionist and maker that lives and works in Baltimore City, Maryland. “Oh” features projections, inflatables, and other artistic spectacles. The grand opening of the exhibit will be at Noon on Oct. 12, followed by a lecture in the gallery on Oct. 13 at 12:30 PM, and she will host a workshop in SET 303 on Oct. 14 from 10 – 11:20 AM. Bell describes her installations as a “temporary spontaneous carnival. Enjoyment is a functional necessity of my artwork”. Whether in an intimate gallery setting or on a grand scale through projection mapping works, Bell’s projects have delighted Charm City citizens at the American Visionary Arts Museum, Artscape, The Transmodern Arts Festival, the Sweaty Eyeballs Animation Festival, and Light City. She has exhibited further afield at the MoCa Lights Festival in Long Island, New York, Digital Graffiti in Alys Beach, Florida, the Dlectricity festival in Detroit, Michigan and as far away as Animafest Zagreb in Croatia, and the INTERSECCIÓN Festival Internacional in A Coruña, Spain. In 2024 Kelley was awarded the Baker Artist Award in Inter- and Multi-Disciplinary Work.

Kelley holds a MFA in Imaging and Digital Arts from University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and is an Associate Professor in UMBC’s Department of Visual Arts. The Llewellyn Gallery located in Room 312 of the Engineering Technology Building is open weekdays 9 AM – 4 PM.
