FROM THE NYSP: On October 19, 2026, at approximately 10:20 p.m., New York State Police from SP Geneseo responded to a one-vehicle fatal crash on State Route 390 in the town of Mount Morris, Livingston County. Troopers say that a preliminary investigation determined that a 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling northbound on State Route 390 when it left the roadway, struck a guardrail, overturned and traveled down an embankment before coming to rest in a creek bed. The vehicle sustained extensive damage and caught fire. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 37-year-old, Sylvester C. Hall, of Hornell, NY, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Livingston County coroner responded to the scene, and an autopsy has been ordered.
The investigation remains ongoing.
