A New Street Drug In Steuben County, Is Causing Heart/Breathing Problems

November 29, 2024

There’s a new street drug that’s now in Steuben County, and it’s apparently showed up lately in the village of Bath. Bath Police Chief Colin Taft says, the drug’s street name, is “Sugar”. “We believe it’s a synthetic drug, which has properties similar to PCP and methamphetamines combined,” Taft said. “The effects are horrible. People on it, are just out of their minds. It’s one of the worst drugs that we’ve ever seen,” the police chief noted.

Hornell Police Chief Ted Murray says he is also hearing about the presence of this drug, known as “Sugar”, in the county. “We have been made aware that it’s circulating in our area,” said Murray. “Some people have been tested at local hospitals for it. People that the hospitals have treated, have had respitory issues and heart issues, from this particular drug,” Murray stated.
