ALBANY, NY – Numerous media outlets are reporting that the part of the legislation that codifies abortion in New York State, has been removed from the Women’s Equality Agenda.
Most of the Women’s Equality Agenda, addresses issues such as equal pay for equal work, and anti-sexual harassment laws. However, the abortion part of the bill has, for long time now, prevented Republicans in the New York State Senate from supporting the WEA.
Pro-lifers are relieved with the news, the abortion rights activists see it as a betrayal and a compromise by the governor.
