FROM THE CANISTEO-GREENWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT: Students in the Canisteo-Greenwood Youth and Government organization completed their annual trip to Albany this past weekend. More than 20 CG students participated in the 90th annual model Legislature, along with over 800 of the brightest students from across New York State. Organization President Sophie Valentine led a chamber on Friday and was recognized as the conference’s outstanding delegate at the closing ceremony. Malachi Stauring was served as chief justice of the court of appeals and was nominated to participate in the highly selective National Judicial Competition, in Austin, TX this summer. Logan Slawson and Olivia Tucker were both nominated for the prestigious Conference on National Affairs in North Carolina in June. Our students delegates performed very well, as they always do, in this state-wide event and began earning points towards New York’s new seal of civic readiness upon graduation.
