Academic All-Stars Results From Monday, March 9

Academic All-Stars completed their fifth week of competition on Monday night. With one week to go, two teams have clinched their division titles, while others are still up for grabs. In the Large School Division Bath was victorious over Hornell 44 – 5. Corning-Painted Post had a bye for the evening. Bath currently holds the best record in the division at 3-1, however if Corning scores a victory next week, they will meet Bath for a Tie Breaker match to determine the division championship. Canisteo-Greenwood continued their perfect record with a win over Addison 64 – 13. With an
undefeated 5-0 record, Canisteo-Greenwood has clinched the Medium-Large School division. Naples had a strong win over Campbell-Savona 52 – 21.
In the Medium-Small School division Alfred-Almond dominated Prattsburgh 60 – 11, while Hammondsport topped Arkport 52 – 28. Alfred Almond also finished week 5 with a perfect 5-0 record, clinching the division title. Finally in the Small School Division, Canaseraga defeated Avoca 55 – 23, and J-T eked out a 29 – 28 nailbiter over Bradford. Canaseraga and J-T will go into week 6 with 3-2 records facing each other to determine the championship. Come on out next Monday night for our Division deciding matches at 6:15 in Hornell, Campbell-Savona, Alfred-Almond, and Bradford.
After more than 20 years as a volunteer for Academic All-Stars, Dr. Robert Anderson of Bath moderated his last match in Prattsburgh on Monday night.
