FROM ALFRED VILLAGE POLICE:
On March 24, 2024, around 2:15 AM the Alfred Police Department responded to the area of West University St, For report of a large disturbance and possible fight. Upon arrival, several individuals were dispersed from the area, and as a result of the investigation the Police Department reports the arrest of a Hornell teen. He was arrested and charged with one count of disorderly conduct. Babcock was arrested and released on appearance ticket set to appear in Alfred village court on a later date.
On April 5, 2024, at approximately 4:30 PM the Alfred Police Department reports the arrest of 49-year-old woman from Grand Island NY, following an investigation into an incident that happened in the Village of Alfred. This investigation into the incident that happened within a two-day span resulted in the suspect getting arrested and charged with Aggravated harassment 2nd degree for allegedly making threats via communication. The Police Department also investigated a separate incident involving her, which resulted in a separate charge of Harassment in the 2nd degree where she allegedly followed another person for a period of time. She will appear in Village Court on a later date to answer these charges.
On April 5, 2024, approximately 11:46 PM the Alfred Police Department reports the arrest of 22-year-old Jerell Robinson of Rochester NY following a traffic stop north Main Street in the Village of Alfred. Further investigation into the stop, revealed that Robinson was allegedly impaired by the use of drugs. Robinson was arrested and charged with Driving while Ability impaired by the use of drugs, Aggravated Unlicensed operation in the second degree, and following too closely. Robinson was processed and issued an appearance ticket set to appear in village court on a later date
On April 6, 2024, at approximately 11:56 AM the Alfred Police Department reports the arrest of 20-year-old male from West Henrietta NY following an incident that started in the Village of Alfred and ended in the town of Alfred. At approximately 11:56 AM Police attempted to stop him in his vehicle for traveling at a high rate of speed down Main St. in the Village. It is alleged that suspect failed to comply with a lawful order to stop and continue down state route 244 into the town of Alfred, travelling at speeds over 100 mph, while passing cars in a no passing zone. He eventually stopped his vehicle near State Route 21. He Was arrested and charged with Reckless endangerment in the second degree, Unlawful fleeing from a police officer, Reckless driving, Unlawful possession of alcohol under 21, and several traffic infractions. The 20 year old Was arrested, processed and released on appearance tickets set to appear in the Alfred village court and the Alfred town court on a later date.
