Alfred State College: We Got Out The Student Vote

April 16, 2025
By Alfred State Spokesperson Paul Welker

Alfred State and the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) honored Adriana Gill as part of the fourth annual ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll. The 2025 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll recognizes college students at participating campuses who have gone above and beyond to advance nonpartisan student voter registration, education and turnout efforts in their communities.
“Our efforts to create a voter friendly campus and provide valuable non-partisan resources and engagement opportunities to our students is not a solo effort,” commented Director of Global Engagement and Civic Wellbeing Cyan Corwine. “I am grateful for collaborations with faculty, staff, students, and regional partners who have joined our efforts each year. I am proud to see one of our students and our regional League of Women Voter’s recognized for their standout efforts in supporting our student-body here at Alfred State.”
Gill is one of 232 students who mobilized their fellow students to make their voices heard in a historic election cycle.
“As a student and first-time voter, I truly believe that voting is essential to shaping the future of our country,” commented Gill. “Working as a nonpartisan representative has taught me so much and allowed me to connect with people from all walks of life. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with Cyan and Civic Engagement – it has been an amazing experience!”
Alfred State also nominated Allegany and Cattaraugus County League of Women Voters for their support of the initiatives at the college. Their willingness to share non-partisan voter resources, table at events, and joining conversations during programming sessions, Marge McIntosh and her colleagues were honored as a standout local partner.
McIntosh was excited to be honored. “We are more than proud to have been nominated and chosen for our nonpartisan efforts at local colleges and universities in our two New York county areas as well as in neighboring Bradford, PA. We value our collaborative partnerships with institutions of higher learning and thank them for all their efforts to inform and engage young citizens.”
