Allegany Co’s State Of Emergency Ended This Morning

June 7, 2025

Last night during the heavy rain storms, Allegany County Chair Brooke Harris announced that a countywide state of emergency had been declared due to widespread and hazardous flooding and deteriorating road conditions.

This morning at 9:15 a.m. Chairman W. Brooke Harris rescinded the State of Emergency and Emergency Order related to dangerous flooding and road conditions that were issued last night.

A Travel Ban had been in effect around the Cuba Lake area including the Abbott Road, Rawson Road, County Road 17, County Road 20, and North Branch Road but that ended at 12:00 p.m. today.

Please continue to use caution and monitor the weather and road conditions when traveling.

On behalf of all County residents, Chairman Harris extends his deepest thanks to our emergency responders and Public Works crews. Their tireless dedication and swift action have ensured the safety and well-being of our residents, and we are all very grateful and appreciative.
