Defendant’s Name: Anthony J. Gorse

Charges: Burglary 1st degree (B violent felony);
Criminal Contempt 1st degree (E felony);

Proceedings: Anthony J. Gorse will spend the next 10 years in state prison for unlawfully entering a home in Rushford on May 12, 2022. In addition to the 10-year sentence for burglary, Gorse was also sentenced to 1-1/3 to 4 years for violating an order of protection when he entered the victim’s home. Following his prison sentence, Gorse will have 5 years of post-release supervision. At sentencing, District Attorney Jones advocated for the 10 years of incarceration, arguing that the defendant has failed to accept accountability for his crimes.

Proceedings: Whitney Blankenship has been sentenced to 1 year in the Allegany County Jail for violating her probation conditions. Blankenship was originally sentenced to 5 years of probation in Chautauqua County in January of 2023. After her probation was transferred to Allegany County, Blankenship violated her conditions resulting in a revocation of her probation and the 1 year jail sentence.
