An Alfred State employee was admitted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after testing positive for COVID-19. According to College President Dr. Skip Sullivan, anyone who was recently in close contact with the person was notified. Cleaning and sanitation have been performed in the employee’s work area. The College says positive cases indicate that Alfred State has reliable confirmation and does not include rumor or generalized symptoms of flu-like illness. Known cases are received from self-reports, notifications from Allegany County DOH, or other public health agencies.
