Allegany County Political Action Committee Endorses Gies For Congress

June 8, 2026

ACM-PAC supports candidates who will ensure that ALL are heard, treated fairly and humanely, and enabled to thrive. It is committed to supporting the NY 23 Congressional candidate who will stand up to the current administration, speak out against its abuses, and change the direction our country is headed.
In the 2026 election cycle, only one federal race affects our county: the race for the NY-23 Congressional seat. Democrats Aaron Gies (Olean – NY-23) and Kevin Stocker (Tonawanda – NY-26) are preparing to square off in a primary on June 23rd, the winner of which will go on to face Republican Nick Langworthy (Pendleton – NY-23) for the seat in November’s general election.
Both Democratic candidates were invited to seek our endorsement by responding to a questionnaire. After reviewing the responses and discussing both candidates’ public comments as they relate to leadership and character, the AMP-PAC board unanimously voted to endorse Aaron Gies.
For months, Mr. Gies has been meeting with people in Allegany County and throughout the 23rd district to listen to voters and relate his positive message for change. He talks of “reigniting the common good,” “rebuilding a government that works for us,” affordability, and quality health care. His positive message and ideas are attracting support. He has avoided personal attacks. Our organization is confident that, when elected, Mr. Gies will represent the people and families of Allegany County and the 23rd district, not the interests of corporate millionaires and billionaires.
According to Treasurer Mary Raymond, “We are proud and privileged to make this endorsement. In addition to choosing Aaron Gies as our standard bearer, ACM-PAC will donate $5,000 to the campaign for the primary, and will continue to make financial contributions to the extent allowable by law.”
