Railwayage.com reports that Alstom is working to acquire 100% of Bombardier’s shares for between €5.8-6.2 billion (US$6.5-6.9 billion, C$8.8-9.4 billion). If approved, this deal would make Alstom the world’s second largest railway equipment manufacturer by revenue, behind China’s CRRC. The European Union is scheduled to have the deal worked out by July 16.
