Thursday at Alstom in Hornell, officials will be holding Stand Up For Transportation Day, to raise awareness about the federal transportation bill that runs out at the end of May.
Mayor Hogan says that mayors across the state and nation are having similar events, to highlight the importance of transportation funding.
Hogan noted that the big cities that Hornell’s Alstom facility makes train cars for, as well as Hornell’s HAT bus system, rely on the federal transportation money. The transportation funding also provides for road and bridge work and repairs.
