ANDOVER, NY – State Police report that Betty Matison, 60 of Andover, was killed in an accident on County Route 22. According to troopers, Matison was traveling North on CR 22 when her vehicle failed to negotiate a curve. Officials say that Matison’s 1993 Geo Tracker exited the roadway and stuck an embankment causing the vehicle to roll over multiple times, ejecting Matison from the vehicle.
Matison was pronounced dead at the scene by Allegany County Coroner Maynard Baker and transported to the Monroe County Medical Examiners Office for autopsy. State Police were assisted at the scene by Andover Fire Department, Andover Ambulance and Andover Police. NYSP Collision Reconstruction and BCI also responded to the scene and the investigation continues at this time
