Ann Fahir, of Bath

HORNELL/BATH-Ann M. Fahir, 94, formerly of Water St., Bath, passed away Monday morning (March 17, 2014) at the Taylor Health Center in Bath, where she has resided since 2007.

Born in Susquehanna County, Pa. on July 10, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Agnes V. Kane Hayes. On Nov. 24, 1971, she was married to Charles P. Fahir, who predeceased her on Feb. 17, 1985, after 14 years of marriage. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her sister, Margaret Hayes and her two brothers, Thomas and William Hayes.

Ann proudly served her country with the U.S. Army from 1944 until her honorable discharge as a Corporal in 1946. She resided in Scranton, Pa. before moving to the Hornell/Bath area in 1986.

Her family includes her sister-in-law, Amelia Hayes of Hornell and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass will be celebrated in her memory at 12:10 p.m., Wednesday (April 16) at St. Ann’s Church in Hornell.

Interment will be in the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, Pa.
