ARKPORT, NY – The Arkport board agreed on a budget for 2015-16 fiscal school year Wednesday evening. Superintendent Glenn Niles announced in his presentation that the school plans on a total budget of $10.6 m with the state contributing $6.4 m and taxpayers contributing an additional $4.2 million. That equals out to a 1.59% tax increase for local residents.
Niles noted that the original numbers appeared to be a 9% increase but that the real number is 5.38%. He was pleased to announce that this fiscal years budget is actually $54 k less than last years.
