Elizabeth Holmes, Attorney For The Broadway Group
ARKPORT, NY – 40 people came out last night to the Arkport public hearing about having a Dollar General Store. Those who spoke, were against the project, citing reasons such as traffic safety, insufficient tests done on traffic on Route 36, and the negative effects that they believe the Dollar General could have on nearby stores, such as the Shurfine and 7/11. Others wondered why another dollar store was needed in the area, when there were already more than one in the area.
We asked Elizabeth Holmes, the attorney for The Broadway Group (the company that’s working on the deal with Dollar General), if Margaret Horan has sold the property yet. Holmes stated the deal is under contract, but would not comment any further.
The next meeting regarding the Dollar General Store will be on Wednesday, August 25, 7:30pm.
