Arkport Husband And Wife Survive Motorcycle/Deer Accident

​LEICESTER, NY – Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty says there was a deer/motorcycle accident
this morning at 8:40am.

Dougherty reports that Keith Price, age 46, of Arkport was operating his 2001 Yamaha motorcycle traveling North on State Highway 36 in the Town of Leicester. His wife, Janine Price, age 47, was the passenger also along for the ride.

Near entrance to Letchworth State Park a deer ran into the roadway and into the side of the motorcycle causing the crash to occur. A witness observed the accident and advised that the motorcycle operated tried to stop but the deer ran right into the side of him.

The motorcycle slid about 75 feet and landed in the ditch on the East side of the roadway, both riders were thrown off and sustained non life threatening injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital.
