Arkport Is Studying The Marijuana Opt-Out Law

September 22, 2021

ARKPORT, NY – The Arkport Village Board has tabled to take up a vote on the state’s marijuana opt out law. The village board is working with the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department to get more info about the opt out law.

From what we know so far, the Opt-Out Law, does not ban marijauna in a municipality, but can forbid adult-use cannabis retail dispenseries and on-site consumption licenses. The deadline for submitting the Opt-Out Law paperwork, is December of this year.

In other Arkport news, the Arkport Village Hall will be working with the Arkport American Legion so that Arkport streets will have hometown hero veteran flags up, by some time next year.
