Assemblyman Nojay Denies Charges Coming From Cambodia

Assemblyman Bill Nojay is not going to appear in court in Cambodia on Monday, July 4th. According to an online Asian newspaper, Nojay is accused of promising a Cambodian woman a green card for her daughter, so the woman’s daughter could come to the U.S. Th Cambodian woman says she put a million dollars into a bank account to help an agriculture business which Nojay was trying to get started several, called Akkra, but she says she never got a green card.

Time Warner Cable News reports that according to Nojay, the hearing on Monday will be a motion to dismiss. “Nojay said the first judge involved with the case was removed from the bench after Lykuong attempted to bribe him and his clerk was arrested. The assemblyman said he’s never met the plaintiff and has been doing business in the southeast Asian country since the 1980s. He expects the charges to be dismissed.”
