Julia Groff, 32, Bolivar, is in Allegany County Jail. This because she’s the suspect in the stabbing incident at a gas station there, an incident in which two state troopers were stabbed in the head with a knife. That was on May 17, 2025. Allegany County District Attorney Pete Degnan says the defense attorney for Julia Groff has submitted a psychological defense report. The D.A. also says this means that the prosecution will have to hire an expert to make their own independent evaluation on the defense’s report.
The trial could come as soon as December in Allegany County Court.
