Bath Man Facing Drug Dealer Accusations

BATH, NY – Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on November 18, 2021, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ryan S. Wittrock, age 33, of East Washington Street, Bath, New York, following an investigation into a report of a person screaming on Main Street, Savona, New York.

Deputies encountered Mr. Wittrock, who was reportedly upset over the overdose of an acquaintance. Mr. Wittrock had been previously indicted by a Steuben County Grand Jury and two active Indictment Warrants existed. Deputies attempted to take Mr. Wittrock into custody and it is alleged that Mr. Wittrock attempted to resist his arrest by running. Deputies were able to detain Mr. Wittrock and take him into custody.

It is also alleged that Mr. Wittrock both sold and possessed suspected controlled substances based on an investigation conducted by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, the Village of Bath Police Department and the Steuben County District Attorney’s Office.

Mr. Wittrock was charged with Criminal Sales of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B Felony and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree. Mr. Wittrock was held in the Steuben County Jail pending a bail hearing in Steuben County Court.
