Bath Man Is Accused Of Smuggling Drugs Into The County Jail

BATH, NY – From The Steuben County Sheriff’s Dept:

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on January 17, 2021, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Damian L. Koerner, age 28, of May Street, Bath, New York, following an investigation of a report of an inmate in the Steuben County Jail smuggling in controlled substances. It is alleged that Mr. Koerner, a recently booked in inmate at the Steuben County Jail, smuggled several small baggies containing various pills into the facility inside his body, and then expelled them from his body while in quarantine and under watch. Mr. Koerner, an alleged NYS Parole violator, was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree, a Class D Felony, Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Class E Felony and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.

Mr. Koerner was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and returned to the Steuben County Jail.
