HORNELL, NY – Hornell Police report that they got a call about a bear, walking around on Riverside Place, at around 3:30am on Friday morning. HPD officers Jason Day, Matt Linehan, Pete McDaniels, Andy Koehler and Brett Flaitz, responded to the scene. Police say that that they brought in the Department of Environmental Conservation, and the D.E.C. tranquilized the bear.
The bear was said to have weighed 340 pounds.
It was later released in a country area.
