Update, on the Belle Haven water situation
Belle Haven is a small hamlet between Hornellsville and Canisteo. Belle Haven has a few dozen people living there. Some Belle Haven residents are currently getting their water from the Village of Canisteo. Others in Belle Haven get their water from Hornellsville.
There are talks going on to either (A) have Hornellsville annex Belle Haven or (B) to set up a water district for Belle Haven, a water district involving Hornellsville and the Village of Canisteo. The Canisteo Town Board does not seem interested in getting into that water district.
Also, there have been separate talks going on, between Hornell and the Hornellsville Town Board to get a sewer district going, between Hornell, North Hornell and other parts of Hornellsville. That’s in the early planning phase, and plans are not definite for a sewer district yet.
