Bishop & Johnson Funeral Parlor Receives Recognition

October 24th, 2019

HORNELL, NY – Mayor John Buckley and Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes recognized Bishop and Johnson Funeral Home for 40 years in business in the city of Hornell Thursday afternoon.

Buckley thanked Bill Bishop for his years of service to the city and also for going above and beyond for being community minded and giving back to the community for so many years.

Byrnes also stated that she was really proud to be there to recognize them for outstanding service to the community over the years.

“Funeral parlors are the cornerstone of any community because in time of need and sympathy they are the people who the community reaches out too.” Said Byrnes, “For 40 years you have spent most of your lives working with and comforting your community and that is just a phenomenal thing.”

Director Bill Bishop commented, “I can’t believe it has been 40 years already, it seems like yesterday. We have worked really hard over the years to provide the best service we can, and we are still working every day to provide those services to our community.”
