Bridge Repairs Start Monday, In Addison

June 17, 2021

STEUBEN COUNTY, NY – The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of lane closures beginning Monday, June 21, along Route 417 in the town of Addison, Steuben County, to facilitate bridge repairs.

Traffic will be maintained on Route 417 using alternating single-lane closures and on-site flagging personnel at the bridge that carries Route 417 over the Canisteo River just south of Water Street. Work is expected to last approximately three weeks.

Motorists should anticipate minor travel delays and build extra travel time into their schedule or seek an alternate route. Construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change based on conditions.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
