Brief Hostage Situation During Monroe County Robbery

April 19, 2024

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department says at BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse on Jefferson Road in Henrietta at about 1am, a suspect wearing a ski mask jumped over a fence into an outdoor area adjacent to a kitchen door and remained there for several hours until an employee exited the door to put trash into a dumpster. The suspect, armed with a handgun, confronted and forced the employee back into the building, where he and an additional employee were held at gunpoint and had their hands tied by the suspect. The suspect stole money and fled on foot. An investigation is underway, and there are no suspects in custody at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call the 9-1-1.
