HORNELL, NY – Mayor John Buckley is urging Governor Kathy Hochul to consolidate two statewide primaries dates into one day in September. With the NYS congressional and senate lines being redrawn in the coming weeks, it has created a scenario where there could be two separate primary dates this year.
“The hyper-partisan gerrymandered district lines which were fast-tracked by the Governor and thrown out by the courts may ultimately be another financial blow to tax payers as municipalities such as Hornell will have to absorb added costs related to the extra day of elections.”
