Buckley Thanks Hornell Wegmans, For Donating Semi Trailer

January 13, 2021

Wegmans recently donated a semi-trailer to the City of Hornell for storage of the City Christmas tree.

Mayor John Buckley said, “Your donation is such a blessing to the City and is very much appreciated. It will be put to great use as a storage place for our City Christmas Tree which has been a focal point of the City’s Christmas celebrations for many years.” Buckley also said, “It is this spirit of community and generosity that has made Wegmans such an important staple in our community for over 50 years. As a former employee I know the lengths that Wegman’s goes to for their community and I am especially proud to have you as a part of ours. Thank you again for your donation.”

Hornell Wegmans store manager Brett Ahrens said, “It is a priority for Wegmans to be able to make a difference in the communities we serve and with the help of our distribution team in Rochester we were able to source a trailer that would work for the City. It is our pleasure to be able to help ensure the City Christmas tree has a safe and secure place to be stored, protecting and preserving it for years to come.”

Buckley noted the old storage trailer is showing its age and is in need of repair. After repair work, the old trailer will be used to store wreaths, cross-sections and other decorations.
