Calling Hours And “Ride Of Respect” Plans For Hartsville Highway Superintendent Getman

April 3, 2024

Hartsville Town Highway Superintendent Buddy Getman died on Thursday March 28 at Strong Memorial Hospital. Calling hours were held yesterday and will be held once again today at the Funeral Home in Wellsville, at 34 West State Street Wellsville, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. A time of sharing will be held at 6pm at the funeral home.

Also, Hartsville town supervisor Kriste Gerhard says the Town of Hartsville Highway Department has organized a “Ride of Respect” to honor the hard work and dedication of Buddy Getman. Several Townships Highway Departments and their town trucks will be at the funeral home in Wellsville at approximately 4pm.

“Harstsville residents are asked not to follow the convoy in the best interest of safety. This may temporarily impact traffic on Purdy Creek Rd around 3 pm as well as the remainder of the route to Wellsville,” said Supervisor Kriste Gerhard in an email from last night. Gerhard also says they encourage residents who wish to support this effort to gather in a safe and secure location either off the roadside or at the Funeral home in Wellsville.
