Campbell Man Charged For Allegedly Menacing A Deputy, And Firing Gunshots Before That

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on June 5, 2024, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Raymond M. Burns, age 32, of Savona-Campbell Road, Campbell, New York, following an investigation of a report of a person discharging a firearm and shouting on the Savona-Campbell Road. It is alleged that Mr. Burns fired several rifle shots outside his residence and when contact was made by a deputy, threatened to get another firearm to use unlawfully against responding police. It is further alleged that he attempted to enter his residence to do so before being taken into custody. Mr. Burns was charged was charged with Menacing a Police Officer, a class D Felony, and Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree. Mr. Burns was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.
