Canisteo News: A Fire Contract Has Been Signed, The Work Continues On A Park To Be Named After Trooper Nick Clark, E-Bike Update

The Canisteo Village Board has signed a $139,000 fire department contract with the Canisteo Town Board. The Canisteo Village Board signed the contract on Wednesday night, the Canisteo Town Board signed the contract on Monday night.

Work continues in Canisteo, on a new park, which will be named after State Trooper Nick Clark. Clark was killed in a domestic dispute in July 2018, by a suicidal male in the Steuben County Town of Erwin. The park will be located on the corner of Greenwood Street and West Main Street. A monument is currently being built to honor Clark and will be placed there.

In other Canisteo news, officials say that since Canisteo Village Hall passed their E-Bike law, more people are wearing bicycle helmets when riding. Bath Village Police Chief Don Lewis says the village of Bath is working on an E-Bike law, which will allow police to seize the E-Bikes.
