There was a written response from Sgt Giglio says the police coverage is better than it has been in the last four years. That was in response to public comment criticism made about the current police department at village meetings. In other police news the village has gotten a $58,500 grant to buy a new police vehicle and the board approved purchasing a new police department vehicle.
Mayor Monica Recktenwald says there are two grants which have been delayed by the Trump Administration cuts. These are federal grants which would give towards buying new generators. She says she is expecting to get the money from Washington eventually.
The mayor also said there are weekly meetings about FEMA storm damage from August.
Brad Davis has submitted his resignation from the Canisteo Village Department of Public Works. Davis thanked the village board for their help and guidance.
